Roll and Grind

April has come and is almost gone, but there’s one wonderful thing about April that will linger on and that would be Anthony’s sunshine yellow truck, filled with delicious rolls and flavorful grinds a plenty.

Anthony enjoys traveling the world seeking out the best beans and spices for his little business. This month he is featuring two coffee blends from beans he has roasted and ground himself. The first is his “Rainy Day” blend, made from some coffee beans he chose when on a trip to South America. These beans were still in their most delicate state of a small cherry growing on the tree when he first found them and placed his order.  Inside each cherry you will find two beans, the cherry is also called a peaberry. This blend of beans comes from Peru and has a light body to it and exhibits a vanilla-nut sweetness, it is said to have a very unique taste which makes for a perfect cup of “Rainy Day” coffee. Anthony’s cup of “Storm” is a blend of coffee beans also purchased on his trip to South America. The “Storm” blend is made from Brazilian coffee beans which have a heavy body, low acidity, mild sweetness with some notes of chocolate and spices.

If coffee isn’t your thing then have a cup of “Thunder-Bolt” to get yourself rolling. This is Anthony’s specialty of ground cocoa from...you guessed it...South America! This cup of delicious cocoa also comes from Peru. Peru is one of the world’s largest organic cocoa producers. Organic, sustainably grown, fair trade and kosher are all top priorities on Anthony’s list. You will also find a dash of golden-brown Ceylon cinnamon topping off your cup of “Thunder-Bolt” cocoa. This flavor filled treasure comes from Sri Lanka which was once known as Ceylon, just one more wonderful find of Anthony’s to round out some of his spices and grinds.

So if you’re in the mood for an April sunrise adventure, head over to Anthony’s Roll and Grind; while you’re at it stop by and say hi to Cinndy-roll and grab one of Anthony’s classic cinnamon rolls made with the sweet aromatic Ceylon cinnamon, it will go great with your cup of grind. Anthony is a champion bread maker who has channeled his bread baking skills into rolls. But that’s a story for another day….
