A cow for Tay

Okay who wants a cow?

My daughter wants a cow and not just any cow. No, my daughter wants a Highland Cow or as the Scots say, “Heilan Coo!”

A Highland Cow is big, shaggy, has horns, longhorns because they are descendants of the Hamitic Longhorn and has red hair, just like my Tay. That must be the connection...red hair...and lots of it! Some of these cows can be found in shaggy black colors too, but whatever you do don’t tell my Tay or she’ll want a black one too!

I hear that in 1954 Queen Elizabeth had ordered Highland cattle to be kept at Balmoral Castle and to this very day they still roam the lovely green pastures while filling their tummies with delicious sweet grass.

Well I’m not a queen and I most certainly don’t have a large pasture for cattle to graze in, so I did the next best thing I could for my Tay. I drew her a Highland Cow. I sure hope she likes it. Maybe it will hold her over until I get the chance to acquire a castle and large grazing fields for her and her cow.

But if I know Tay… give her a day and she’ll have found one more animal she has fallen in love with. Maybe I should draw a farm and just fill it with all the animals her heart desires….
